The Cambridge Antiques

Cambridge Antiques Cricket Club walk on to No 1 Oval at St Peter’s School Cambridge New Zealand, after lunch on this Sunday afternoon, the 7th of February 2010, to defend their 181 run innings against visitors the Onehunga Mallers. Golden Oldies Cricket – played worldwide – has some 15 teams competing in our region from Dargaville north of Auckland to Taupo in the south. In 2010 club members are involved in the 2010 Parliament and Celebrity Cricket Match – Celebrating 140 years of Cricket in Cambridge – on Sunday the 28th of February at Victoria Square Cambridge – and the 2010 Golden Oldies Cricket Festival at Harrogate England in August. Cambridge Antiques’ next match, a home game, will be on Sunday the 21st of February at Victoria Square Cambridge against Rotorua’s Geyserland Googlies. This afternoon the Onehunga Mallers came home in 32 overs, to win the limited over match, with 182 runs for the loss of six wickets. There are a few more photos here.
The Nikon F90X

Jo has had a rough time of late – and today wasn’t the greatest. Jo wants to pursue photography (with the rationed school time she has at her disposal) through her art. The 90X was retired in 2005 after a full life as a professional camera from new in 1999 or thereabouts. After some too-ing and fro-ing on Facebook and a quick look at what’s on offer on TradeMe – we decide this the best option and a good match.

Eighty Four today

Karena shows Bruce – her Grandad – how she navigated from Parachute at Mystery Creek – through Kaipaki to Leamington using the GPS and map on her Nokia. Today is Bruce’s (my Dad) 84th birthday.
St Andrews Anglican Church Cambridge NZ

St Andrews’ Auckland Anniversary Day market day is an annual affair. Today it has many visitors as right along side SH1 traffic crawls home from the long weekend. One attraction is the church itself. As I sit still in a pew for five minutes making this photograph I am intrigued by the comments of those seeing the inside of the church for the first time – I have known it all my life.
