The Maungatautari Mission annual multi sport race begins here in Leamington – cycles to Tari Road Pukeatua traverses Maungatautari on foot to Maungatautari School – cycles again to Hora hora and kayaks on Lake Karapiro to principal race sponsors Boatshed Café and Kayaks at Karapiro. All of 72kms I am reliably informed.
