Acappella! cool. The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain 8pm Tuesday 23rd of November 2010. Founders Theatre, Hamilton, New Zealand.
Well, it starts at 8pm and goes till late & I’ll be playing a mixture of my own songs as well as some Folk/Blues and Country standards – it’ll be about 60% original songs. There’s no cover charge as far as I am aware. All welcome.
That would be at Flying Nunn (the once infamous Kelly Browne’s Bar), 3 Empire Street, Cambridge this Friday, the 30th of July 2010.
Hopefully a superior version of this hoot of a colaboration will surface all in good time. For the present enjoy mine – the live mashup from three of Hamilton / Waikato’s finest. Hamilton County Bluegrass Band, Big Muffin Serious Band and The Trons. Friday, the 18th of June 2010 Meteor Theatre, No1 Victoria Street, Hamilton, New Zealand. I’m really sorry you missed it.
Does anyone have a more impressively sized poster (well JPEG actually).
The Trons, The Big Muffin Serious Band, and the Hamilton County Bluegrass band get together for a fun concert and mayhem experiment.
Tonight 2000 hours Meteor Theatre, Victoria Street, Hamilton, NZ.
The Nairobi Trio perform before an enthusiastic audience at St Andrews Parish Hall, Cambridge, New Zealand this evening, Thursday, the 29th of April 2010. Masterful and thoroughly entertaining. Very deliberately shot from a static POV (Canon G10) to soak up the atmosphere and the music of course. BTW the odd flashes of light in the windows left and right is traffic passing by on SH1, Hamilton Road – just beyond the hall. Very lo-fi but you get the picture. [06:38]
Hershal and Linn Lorkin of The Jews Brothers Band perform before a full house at St Andrews Parish Hall, Cambridge, New Zealand this evening, Wednesday, the 28th of April 2010. Captivating and great fun.
c/w Vimeo version
Not sure that it was this particular version – and obviously from a US database. Chosen by the Facebook Date Of Birth No1 song app. If you can figure out where I was born – the actual address – from the geolocation embed here – and can tell me what device / app. you used to read it – (sorry, I had better restrict this to a Waikato sitting / location) – you win a portrait sitting ( individual / family / portfolio / business etc.). First in wins.
Vodpod videos no longer available.
Since NZ On Screen first went live we’ve had requests from people wanting to embed the videos we have on site. It’s not quite as simple as just making it available as an option, because everything we put online has to be cleared with copyright holders first. Our initial licence agreements were for putting material on NZ On Screen only. However now we have developed a gorgeous embed player, which includes the ability to see the different clips for each title, as well as the synopsis and some of the credits. When the copyright holder says yes, the “embed this” option will appear under the player. There are a few titles now that are ready to embed – more will be added as we revise existing agreements or make new ones.
Waikato’s own Chris Thompson with a new video on YouTube.
The anticipation, the excitement – the music. It’s been a busy week for Hamilton band The Trons. In Wellington for the Fringe and Webstock and now today at Hamilton Gardens Summer Festival (four performances). The Trons next perform on Sunday the 1st of March at Waikato Museum of Art and History Open Day – at noon.
How come I have missed this for so long? The story outlined at Wikipedia. Cool.
Seems appropriate. For the record from HuffPo.
